As part of the member spotlight series, we take pride in presenting the newest member joining our family, Hannah Cain, a Welsh international and playing as a forward with Leicester City in the WSL
Hannah – The Player
Hannah Cain has represented both England on the under-17, under-19 and under-21 national teams, and represented Wales at under-16, under-17 level and senior level. Cain began her development at the Sheffield United Centre of Excellence. In 2016, Cain joined Sheffield FC in the WSL 2 winning the Future Star award at the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Celebration of Sport awards. In July 2018, Cain signed with Everton on her first full-time professional contract and made her debut for the Blues against Manchester City as a substitute. Cain scored her first goal for the Blues against Reading in November 2018. Hannah joined The Foxes in 2020, scoring her first goal in Leicester’s colours sealing a 1-0 win over Crystal in February 2021. Although injury cut her playing time considerably. she returned to the City squad stronger, scoring three goals across all competitions before committing to a long-term deal, keeping her on Filbert Way until 2025
In April 2014, Cain was named in Wales squad for an under-16 UEFA development tournament in Northern Ireland and later that year, she played for Wales in an under-17 friendly against Northern Ireland. In 2023, she scored her first international goal in a friendly against Northern Ireland

Preparing for the Second Life
For Hannah, education is as vital as her career on the pitch. She’s passionate about footballers taking the time to prepare for life after the game, understanding the importance of forming themselves beyond just their talent on the pitch. As she puts it, “Football careers are short, that’s why gaining an education builds opportunities for the future. For women footballers like myself, preparing for life beyond the game ensures that we build our influence, leadership, and success beyond the pitch.”
Hannah sees the Master in Football Business Management at SBI as a key step in broadening her understanding of the business side of the sport, helping her thrive both on and off the field. By taking part in this program, she’s committed to securing her future in football and building a legacy, not just as a player, but as a leader in the industry
