Liverpool vs. Manchester United: An Economic Snapshot
Manchester United is the club that generates the most revenues in the world according to the latest Deloitte Money League Report. The club generated 689 million Euros across all three revenue categories and it noticed a considerable growth in its commercial sponsorships despite the decline of on-pitch performances.
United's sponsors include over 70 commercial partners worldwide, a number that pales in comparison with other Premier League clubs. Liverpool, for example, only have 23 partners at a global and regional level. It is no surprise, therefore, to see the massive difference in commercial revenue between both clubs.
Liverpool are the ninth richest club in the world. The club suffered in matchday revenue last campaign as Anfield's main stance operated at a reduced capacity due to stadium redevelopments.
Below you can see an infographic that compares both clubs against each other according to several economic indicators.
